JER wins supply contract for biocomposite pellets

2007-11-01 15:58 ET - News Release

Mr. Edward Trueman reports

JER ENVIROTECH ANNOUNCES A FOUR-YEAR SUPPLY AGREEMENT WITH GUARDIAN BUILDING PRODUCTS

Jer Envirotech International Corp. has entered into a four-year supply agreement with Guardian Building Products Distribution Inc. of Greenville, S.C., for the provision of its proprietary thermoplastic biocomposite pellets.

"We've been working closely with Guardian since December of 2006," states Edward Trueman, Jer's president and chief executive officer. "We initially developed two custom polypropylene-based biocomposite formulations that are now being used by Guardian for an extruded construction material. Testing of these formulations was completed in May of 2007, and by the end of August we'd ramped up to more than 168,000 pounds of pellets supplied on a monthly basis. What makes our newly formalized relationship with Guardian particularly exciting is that the end use is a new product line introduction that has been receiving accolades in the market."

"This supply agreement is a natural progression in our relationship with Jer," states Bill Crostic, technical director of Guardian. "We are very pleased with the company's thermoplastic biocomposite formulations. In addition, Jer itself has made a significant effort to ensure top-quality pellets and reliable delivery. We look forward to sharing the continuing success of this product line with Jer as our raw-material supplier."
